Dear family,

My name is Hanneke , Born as Johanna . I came to this world on the 6th of august 1989 in Rhenen, Holland. I grew up in a nice and warm family. I have a father, a mother and 3 brothers. My dad is a detective in the police corps and my mum is a receptionist in the hospital. My oldest brother is 29 years old and works at a car dealership at the lease department. My second brother is 28 years old and is a sports teacher. He works in a facility for blind children. My youngest brother is 22 years old and is still in school.
We live in a town somewhere in the middle of Holland. It’s a nice town, there are nice shops and people are friendly. Most of my family lives in this town, which is nice because this is why we all have a strong bond.
I am in a committed relationship since June this year. We met each other at the wedding of his father, who is a friend of my mums. He lives in Torquay England.

I have some years of experience in childcare. I babysit on my two cousins for about 7 years now. They are now at the age of 13 and 11. I also watch over the children of the church.
In my study I worked with children and youth with special needs or with behavioral problems. I worked with them in drama therapy and in class. I graduated in august this year.

When I look at my future I see myself with a lovely family of my own, we then live in a nice house somewhere in a small city or somewhere near the woods. I see myself in a job I love. I find happiness in helping children/people with disabilities and all sorts of difficulties in life. To help them to find a purpose in life or to help them to improve their quality of life is, for me, the best thing there is.

The reason I want to be a nanny or childminder in the UK is to learn about a different way of life than I am used to in Holland, I would like to improve my English speaking and grammar skills and above all I just find happiness in working with children. I like all sorts of creative activities and I like to play outside, because I think that is very important in a child’s life.

Every week I sing in a group of 11 girls. We sing all sorts of songs. For example songs from movies or musicals or gospel songs. Every year we have at least one big show in a theatre. Singing and performing on a stage, acting and or singing, gives me a great feeling.
When I’m not at work, in school or singing, I like to hang out with friends. We do all sorts of things together. Like going to a zoo, a sports activity or just watch a movie together.
Other things I like to do is; photographing, traveling and painting.
