I am 25 years old student from Finland, currently living in a small quiet town called Ikaalinen. I study furniture restoration, because of the warm feeling I get when I'm giving a new life for something old and worn-out, and I think people should be recycling more to help our planet.
I am looking for a family that takes me as a part of the family, big sister for the kids and a friend to the parents, and also a family that respect each other's privacy if wanted. I want to learn new cultures and languages and explore new places.
I will graduate in the end of year 2016, so I am looking a family for summer months, from June to August.
I am responsible and open-minded. I love travelling, studying and learning new things, especially new languages, cultures, photographing and crafts, also cooking new healthy food recipes, mostly vegetarian.
On my free time I like to draw, paint, sew clothes, exercise, do crafts, read books, go to flea markets, go hiking in the forest and spend time with my friends.
When I am abroad I like to explore different styles of architecture and find beautiful places, get to know new people and listen to their thoughts and stories of life, visit art exhibitions etc.
My family includes mum, stepdad and two little brothers, 20 and 6 years old. They live quite far away from me but I try to visit them as often as I can, we have really close relationships :) My younger brother has a Specific language impairment, so I've learned to communicate with him in different ways like signs and pictures, and have become even more patient than I already was before, because it also has influence in his everyday behavior.
In addition of taking care of my little brothers and playing with my cousins children, I have been a scout leader for 6 to 10 years old kids.
In year 2010 I was an au pair in The Netherlands for 6 months taking care of 3 kids (3, 6 and 8 years old) and in the summer 2015 I was an au pair in Spain taking care of almost 2 years old cute little boy.
Why do you want to be an au pair?
First, I love being with kids, play and have fun with them and teach them new things. It is so rewarding to see a smile on a child's face when he/she learned something new and exiting, or is having a great time playing outdoors and using their imagination!
And second, like I said above I love travelling and have lived abroad before and traveled to many countries, so for me it is not a problem to adapt into a new environment and circumstances, rather it is exiting and I enjoy it!
Well this is it for now, if you want to know more about me, don't hesitate to contact me, I'll be happy to answer all the questions! :)
