I am 27 years old and I am originally from Latvia. I have extensive experience when it comes to working with children (from the ages of 9 months to teen years) - as a nanny, au pair, tutor, and by working as a teaching assistant in a daycare center and kindergarten. I can provide references (from families I've worked for in Poland as well as the kindergarten I've volunteered in - there is no option on this site to provide references with phone numbers from this country).
I am fluent in English and Latvian, and I can speak some Polish, Russian and Japanese (I am slowly learning some Dutch, too).
I'm familiar with alternative education and parenting methods such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Nonviolent Communication. I am passionate about art, music and traveling, and I especially love engaging children in creative projects and activities. I am open-minded and I have worked with many multicultural families and in international environments before. I believe in a gentle way of working with children. The imagination and creativity of children inspire me so much, which is why I have loved working as a nanny and wish to continue working in this field.
